I'd recommend bringing a bike or some ulterior mode of transportation as you will be walking a lot at this university. Bus routes are usually spread from 30 minute intervals and there is very limited parking for undergraduate students. ![]() Personally, I feel like the University of Michigan does offer it's students a lot of resources to be successful, be it free tuition, scholarships, and counselors, and free healthcare, but with many college campuses, I feel like it is a challenge to get around, especially in the north campus coupled with the grueling winters. ![]() Senior: This school will definitely land you a career with it's prestigious backing, if you can even graduate from it. A lot of the culture is exclusionary towards ppl who work or who don't partake in certain activities.-facilities: very very nice- great gyms, dining halls, dormsOverall: a great school with a lot of resources, so be sure to look into your major specific resources bc they offer so much! Just be warned that it's not the easiest place to go to if you don't fit. But the majority of professors are really good-Environment: if you're intimidated by rich, judgmental people, this is not the place for you. To sum up my experience at Duke has been nothing short of transformative in the best way possible. Similarly, the extracurriculars here at Duke provided a wonderful outlet to push me out of my comfort zone and discover my passions, namely martial arts. The courses are difficult, yes but they present students with a lovely major positive changes in myself as a person. Academics on the other hand was another thing. This helped ease my transition and even helped me gain my social footing. Yet upon arrival Duke held an orientation program that allowed incoming freshmen to interact with upperclassmen and bond with fellow first years through various activities like service projects, lake trips, and other leisure activities. When I arrived I was confused and completely out of my comfort zone. Duke University is multi-faceted in the various opportunities it has to offer. Freshman: It's really good and I enjoy the community and people here.
